Karma Car is Back: It’s New, Improved and Getting A Little Help from Our Sun

Looked amazing back in 2001; looks even more incredible now!

According to Business Insider, it seems “Legendary car designer Henrik Fisker released the original Fisker Karma, a $100,000 hybrid sedan, as part of Fisker Automotive in 2011. When Fisker Automotive went bankrupt that same year, it was taken over by Chinese company Wanxiang, which changed the name to Karma Automotive and unveiled the Karma Revero Thursday.”

With new leadership in place, they were able to relaunch the Karma and bring it up to speed with the rest of the industry. What they did was better than that; they took it a step further.

There’s really very little we know about the features of the car at this time, however, we do know one important feature that Karma Revero offers that most other automobile companies don’t offer, solar panel roof top, making this $100.000.00 (basic price) Hybrid electric car a new trend among the automobile makers.  The car will be able to power itself from the integrated solar panels which are incorporated on the roof into this already beautiful and curvy model.  Making the Karma Revero the leading green automobile in the U.S market.

Who will be next? Well it seems Nissan Leaf already offers almost the same feature except their solar panels only provides energy to the car’s accessory systems and not to power up the entire car and all of its systems combined.  The company explains, “this is the first time a production car has featured such an energy system in the US market.”  A challenge for the rest it seems, for those in the business of making environmentally and economically efficient cars that are capable of practically driving themselves, in-fact some already do. Mercedes Benz has stepped up to the plate in regard to that special feature.

The car is able to accelerate to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds hitting top speed of 125 miles per hour.  There’s also a brand new infotainment system which the company describes as “simple, intuitive and beautiful.”

Karma Automotive is hand painting this circular badge on all of its Reveros as a statement on “craftsmanship and individuality.”

Well I’m sold.

Due to come out on September 8, everybody is anticipating the companies full unveiling of its innovative new auto and the incredible features that it offers.  There is one important feature we look forward to trying and that’s the actual performance of the car, but that we will have to wait and see.
